It depends on three main factors discussed as below:
1- What is your specialization in chemistry like, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, or inorganic chemistry etc.
2- Techniques you have worked on like, organic or material synthesis, chromatography, spectroscopy etc.
3- Which industry you’re interested to join (#pharmaceutical #petrochemicals, #chemical #mfg #textile #foods etc.)
Strategies to follow for “How to get job in industry”.
• Specific Industry: You should first select the industry you’re interested in. Find out what is the job description (from LinkedIn post announcement of a top tier company in that industry) they ask for when hiring fresh graduates.
• Skills: Develop those skills they seek and get knowledge about the work, especially a thorough work mechanism of that industry.
• Network: Meet some seniors from that industry and get their insights. You can network with professionals in your field by attending conferences, seminars, and other events. This will help you build relationships with people who can provide you with job opportunities or recommend you to others.
• Resume: Update your Resume according to the job description of that industry. Get your Resume reviewed from seniors.
Remember you’re a freshman so you don’t need to be expert on anything you just need to have a good understanding of the procedures that you learned in university and from YouTube, have great concepts about the chemistry and chemical reactions behind the processes of the work you’re expected to perform.
That’s all you need, be confident and apply for jobs and internships (internships are a direct way to get into the industry).
Wish you good luck.
