National University of Medical Sciences, Pakistan

Dr. Rafia Rehman is an Assistant Professor of
Phytochemistry and Natural Products at the
National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS),
Rawalpindi. She is a natural product chemist with a
specialized focus on the essential oils of medicinal
plants. Her research aims to identify and isolate
bioactive compounds to develop natural
medicines with fewer side effects. She successfully
isolated over fourteen terpenes during her PhD at
Brunel University London. A dedicated educator,
she was distinguished as a “Perfectionist” in the
National Faculty Development Program. She has
an excellent publication record, including 44

Plenary Speaker

Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia

Dr. Vicinisvarri Inderan is a Senior Lecturer in
Chemistry at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM),
Malaysia. Her research focuses on nanomaterials,
particularly the development of doped metal-oxide
gas sensors and photocatalysts for environmental
remediation. She has specific expertise in the
hydrothermal synthesis of tin(IV) oxide (SnO)
nanostructures and their application in detecting
gases like ethanol and degrading pollutants such as
microplastics. Dr. Inderan also utilizes artificial neural
networks for process modeling and has investigated
sustainable adsorbents for wastewater treatment.
She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Universiti Sains
Malaysia. Her work effectively bridges advanced
materials science with practical environmental
solutions.
