Content Title: Classification of Osteoporosis Diseases Using Deep Learning

  • Osteoporosis is the skeletal disorder that is caused by the low bone mineral density and calcium as a result of it the bone become porous and  fracture occurs
  • Osteoporosis is the prevalent diseases that are most common in the  postmenopausal women as compared to the man. The ratio of the  osteoporosis in the postmenopausal women is 1:3 (one in three women  have osteoporosis), and in men it is 1:5 (one in five man have  osteoporosis).
  • It is asymptomatic disease until fractures occur.
  • The osteoporosis effects the whole world. But the highest prevalence of  osteoporosis was in Asia and among women, the highest prevalence of  osteoporosis was in Africa.

  • Current system used for the osteoporosis detection and classification are not suitable for the real time identification.
  • Other models used for osteoporosis diseases detection and classification show the several challenges such as less accuracy and over fitting.
  • To Develop a light weight deep learning model that will classify the osteoporosis diseases and providing high accurate result in real-life scenario.
  • To Develop a light weight deep learning model that will classify the osteoporosis diseases and providing high accurate result in real-life scenario.
  • The aims of this project is to develop the an efficient deep learning-based model for the accurate classification of osteoporosis disease using X-ray image of the Lumbar spine.
